Surprise

I found this nest when I was fixing a cooler and going through the jungle of bushes. You can only see it in one direction and is hidden very well. I will be watching it. The first day there was a white/blue egg. Then the next morning there was a robin egg and the blue egg. In the afternoon the blue egg was on the ground with a hole in it. The next day there were two robin eggs and one more white/blue egg. This morning there is only two robin eggs. I guess the robin does not like to egg sit other bird eggs. Sad, because the other bird was pretty and very protective.

Pageant Times

It is the Mormon Miracle Pageant time and there are a lot of people in town. We have been mostly booked for the week and a half. There are interesting activities in town and so much to do. We are busy and I am tired. Up early to cook breakfast, clean rooms and do laundry, still try to spring clean and remodel and then up late for after pageant snack shop hours-11:00pm till 1:00 am. It is fun to see my daughter have the entrepreneur spirit and see my kids work hard. This is such a good experience for kids to be working around family.

A new tree

We planted a new tree for a friend who just lost his father. It is a golden delicious. We should have lots of cherries this year, along with apricots and apples. I love the orchard here at Cedar Crest. We had some wonderful guest this weekend.

My sister Natalie came up this weekend to help. She was amazing. She brought her two kids, Micah and Carmen.

We have been cleaning and preparing for the 2011 season. This year we are planning on Scrap booking retreats where scrappers can come and use the banquet facilities to scrap book to their hearts content. I will be providing the food and snacks. Scrappers can work day and night and not have to worry about a thing.

We are looking forward to the family reunions that will be staying with us. Families can come and rent the whole facility for two days or a week.

Palisade golf course is one mile from the Inn. We have wonderful golf packages for your favorite golfers. This is Utah's hidden retreat for golfing. Beautiful days and the golf course is not crowded.

We also have campers that don't want to camp. Many families have family reunions at the camp ground located a mile up the road. Some family members do not want to camp and have the comfort of a bed and hot shower. We welcome them each year.

Some other adventures new this year will be our guests who come to ATV or mountain bike. We have maps of the trails to explore minutes from the door.

Every year we have our Manti Pageant guests who book early. This year we will be having treats after the pageant.  You won't want to miss it.

At the close of the season, to honor the heritage of the property, we will have an Oktoberfest with food and many other surprises.

We are planning many adventures this year and hope you come to enjoy a few.

Start of the new generation

We are on a journey to create and remodel Cedar Crest Inn. We hope to bring it back to the glory days of years past. We are the third generation in the business and training the fourth generation. Cedar Crest Inn the property goes back even more generations into the 1800's. There are stories to be told and be made. We hope that all who come feel welcome and relaxed even though the family motto is "There is no rest at Cedar Crest.

I will post our projects we are currently working on. If you or anyone would like to contribute please feel free to email me and we can work out a trade arrangement. There are alot of opportunities to help and join in the fun of creating something wonderful.
